Thanks to the unique construction, VELFAC double sliding doors can create an extra-wide, uninterrupted opening of up to 2.5 metres. Ideal for kitchens, dining rooms or garden rooms, each glass pane of the double sliding glass doors moves in two different directions on the track, letting more light into your home and connecting any room to the outside. VELFAC sliding exterior doors are a practical solution to open up your living space, especially when you need to save space.

One of the main benefits of a sliding double door is that it takes up very little space when open, also making it the ideal choice for narrow terraces or balconies – anywhere where space is at a premium.

The signature slim VELFAC frame design delivers a flat, seamless façade when the door is combined with other VELFAC windows, whether fixed or opening. The slim frame also improves energy efficiency meaning no cold spots, and full use of floor space right up to the glass.

VELFAC double sliding doors , also known as double leaf sliding doors, are available in two different versions:

• Standard threshold: 70mm
• Low threshold: 24mm

The low threshold version is particularly useful to create an easy access for wheelchairs or prams.

Throughout Europe, millions of windows have stood the test of time, but despite this track record, we still maintain a demanding testing programme to ensure our system continues to meet - and exceed - all necessary standards.

With VELFAC doors you can specify different types of glass depending of you specific needs.

• If the design of your project requires a reduction in solar heat through the glazing, e.g. on South or West facing façades, then you should choose VELFAC SUN. VELFAC SUN is a neutral colour coating, which is very close to the appearance of standard glass, and delivers a natural internal finish and a clear view of the external environment, but offers greater protection against unwanted solar gain.
  
  
• VELFAC DÉCOR opaque glass should be used in areas where privacy and security are required. VELFAC Décor is available in five different designs: Satin, Pacific, Cotswold, Carré or Matt Laminated
  
  
• VELFAC SOUND - ideal to reduce noise coming from the outside
  
  
• VELFAC SAFETY glass can be supplied as laminated or toughened, both types offering significant safety benefits. Safety glass breaks harmlessly, therefore reducing the risk of injury to residents.

Sliding doors offer more controlled ventilation than bifolding doors because allow you to open the doors partially to ventilate each room without making your whole house cold.

VELFAC sliding doors are also very easy to operate even with only one hand, despite the size or weight of the door.

VELFAC sliding doors are in line, meaning that when the VELFAC doors are closed, the sliding section and the fixed section are flush. The VELFAC sliding door has the same sightline of the windows, giving a uniform design.
