RISK OF A MALFUNCTION WITH THE VELFAC 200 ENERGY SLIDING CASEMENT DOOR WITH A HIGH THRESHOLD, 70 MM
A fitting on the VELFAC 200 Energy sliding casement door with a high threshold (70 mm) does not meet the expected quality, which leads to an increased risk of a malfunction. We informed the Trading Standards, which has provided guidance and approved our actions to inform and fix the defect.
During quality control, we have found that a support bracket on the VELFAC 200 Energy sliding casement door with a high threshold (70 mm) does not meet the expected quality.
On some sliding casement doors, a defect has been found in the fittings, which increases the risk of a malfunction. In some cases, this will mean that the door cannot be operated, while in rare cases, it could potentially affect the sash with the glass, which could become loose or, in some cases, fall down.
There is a very low probability that a defect will occur. We have not experienced any defects in the first year of the product’s life, but over time and in combination with lack of maintenance, it has now been discovered that defects can occur in the slide fitting, causing it to lose connection to the track.
We informed Trading Standards as soon as we became aware of the possible malfunction, and they have approved our actions to reach out to the affected customers and replace the fittings.
The affected customers for whom we have data will be contacted directly. Furthermore, we offer all customers who have purchased VELFAC 200 Energy sliding casement doors made from 2014 until May 2022 to have the slide fitting replaced.
We emphasise that the problem only concerns the sliding casement door with a high threshold, and so it does not affect the V200/V200i sliding casement door, the VELFAC 200 Energy sliding casement door with a low threshold or the sliding casement door from the Ribo series.
As a responsible company with a strong focus on the highest quality, we apologise for any inconvenience this situation may cause our customers.
